The better side of Alaska...

Well in May we experience warmer weather...even hot at times where you can wear shorts. We are taking advantage of every opportunity we get to be outside and soak up the sun as much as possible. Howie is back to his crazy work schedule so Kaysen and I spend A LOT of time outside...mosquitoes and weather permitting. We recently got a 4-wheeler, or as Alaskan's call it, an ATV and Kaysen is in LOVE! Between all of his outside toys getting him to come in is quite a fight. All in all its been a slow month and I can't complain. Nice to just enjoy the outdoors and relax before the summer of fishing all over Alaska begins :)

He loves his boots because he can put them on and go outside all by himself

Texas Time

After our world wind time in Florida with Howie's family we went to Texas to spend time with my family and friends. We had a good time letting Kaysen play in the back yard and relaxing by the pool. We did the usual of going to eat at all of our favorite restaurants, going to Blanco to see the farm animals and of course going through Grueene. We were lucky because we were home for Easter so not only did we get to eat great home cooked food, but got to catch up with both sides of my family and friends. I love having everyone together and getting to catch up, its always a good time:) My family loved seeing Howie this year since he was deployed last Easter.
Kaysen was old enough this year to get to enjoy the Children's Museum in New Braunfels and had a blast. Although I'm not sure who had more fun, him or his daddy :) We also made a trip to Sea World with Papa and had a hot, but wonderful time. We were all worn slick from the day of adventures. All in all our time in the states was lots of fun and made us miss all the comforts of home when we had to leave.
