Wild Weather

Well I know its been a while but things have been busy around the Turner home. So I will try to catch you up with all of the happenings in our life lately. Howie and I both celebrated our birthdays in November with him turning the big 30 and me 28. No big party was had, be we didn't care, we were just glad to have him home after being in Afghanistan the last two. It was also great to have Thanksgiving together this year as well. We had our neighbors come over and had a great dinner.
We also had a chinook winds, which meant we had a warm front blow through. After setting the record with -40 in November 50 degree weather was welcomed. Until that is all of the snow melted, it was soggy everywhere and two days later it was 20 degrees and there was ice all over the roads. Non the less we took advantage of this time to put up our Christmas lights. We also had the winter solstice on Dec. 21st which is the darkest day of the year. That also means up to that point we were losing 7.5 minutes a day of day light, but after that we start gaining 7.5 minutes back.....I still am not seeing much of an improvement with the light situation.
Here is a video from last year, please note the time stamp :)
My first turkey I ever cooked.

He loved Thanksgiving food!

My birthday cake Howie made for me.

Removing slush during the chinook. (Notice Howie in his short sleeves)

usually there is a huge mound of snow from the snow plows and the streets are white....all gone!
