In typical fashion Howie left for a 6 week TDY to Guam and Hawaii in February while I, like many of the other wives stayed behind in cold Alaska. I was nervous about this one because he hasn't been away for more than a night since he got home from his deployment in June. Not to mention I'm not only far from home but I am in Alaska where its cold, snowing and trapped inside with an almost 2 year old...that's enough to make anyone a little on edge. With that being said I had a saving grace....my brother Kane. He was able to come up and spend some time with us while Howie was gone. Don't know what I would have done without him. Not only did help out around the house, shovel snow and dog poop, but he was amazing with Kaysen. Kane and Kaysen were two peas in a pod and Kaysen loves his uncle Kane. I truly was blessed to have Kane stay with me and now I am trying to get him to stay permanently :)
